BASF – Nairobi Office
Embracing sustainability and innovation
BASF East Africa begins 2024 with a transformative office redesign. In response to evolving work trends and the rise of remote options, BASF smart sized their Nairobi office by nearly 50%, optimizing space utilization while fostering a culture of collaboration and efficiency. Our commitment to sustainability shines through the integration of local Kenyan aesthetics, promoting a sense of connection to our roots and the environment.
Guided by BASF’s core values of Creativity, Openness, Responsibility, and Entrepreneurship, our redesigned office embodies the principles of the circular economy, incorporating energy-saving measures and locally sourced materials. The design encapsulates BASF’s vision for a Connected Workplace of the future, seamlessly blending advanced technology with biophilic elements that promote well-being and productivity.
The new entrance lobby serves as a testament to our identity, showcasing BASF’s brand elements while providing a welcoming space for visitors and employees alike. Social hubs strategically placed throughout the office encourage collaboration and innovation, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Biophilic design elements infuse the workspace with a sense of tranquillity and connection to nature, enhancing employee well-being and creativity. From open pantry areas to intimate collaboration zones, every aspect of the design reflects our commitment to creating an inspiring and sustainable work environment.
A design feature inspired from a tree in the Savanna, pays homage to the beauty of the East African landscape. Complete with a wellness room, printing zone and phone booths the office provides a space where employees can thrive and grow together.
And finally, the revamped office also yields substantial savings, with over 70% reduction in annual rental spending, optimizing resources and driving tangible business benefits.
